Because I believe part of being a good developer is knowing what tools to use for each challenge. Powerful frameworks are fun to use, and give us great results! However, they aren't always the best option. Overuse of libraries and tools leads to bloated websites which harm the user experience. Sometimes some HTML and CSS are all that is needed for an excellent experience.
My current client is a large regulatory agency. I manage a small team that works within a bigger team made of the client's developers. We use Agile methodology. Besides designing code architecture and implementing it, I spend time working with the client to gather requirements.
When I'm not at work I enjoy a wide range of hobbies. I use Fusion360 and Blender to design objects to make on my 3D printer. Most recently I've designed a bird feeder that uses 3D printed parts to recycle a used water bottle.
I also enjoy designing videogame and boardgame prototypes. A more artistic pursuit is building and painting terrain pieces for tabletop games. Cooking, reading, and hiking also rank high on my list of interests.
